Early Childhood Special Education

Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)

The Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program provides a unique learning experience for those students ages 3-5 years with disabilities and special needs. Individualized education plans are developed to meet the needs of each qualifying child, beginning as early as 3 years of age. There are a variety of services and program options provided to students who qualify for an Individualized Educational Program (IEP). An additional program that supports our ECSE classrooms is our Peer Mentor students.  Peer Mentors are placed in the ECSE class alongside those children with special needs. Peer Mentors provide positive peer interactions, demonstrate play skills, and model appropriate speech and language and social skills for children with special needs.  ECSE classrooms utilize the same curriculum as all other prekindergarten classrooms.

All Lebanon R3 Early Childhood programs are provided at no cost to the parents.
