Substitute Teaching Process

We appreciate our subs! If you would like to be considered as a substitute teacher for the Lebanon Public Schools you must complete the following steps:
  1. Go online to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and file for a sub certificate here. You will create a profile by clicking Register, and then complete the application. You will need to send a copy of your transcripts to DESE, unless you hold an active Missouri Teaching Certificate.
  2. Next, apply online here with our School Recruiter service.
  3. Download the Substitute Packet here or if you are having trouble downloading, drop by Lebanon Public Schools Central Office at 1310 E. Rt. 66 to pick up your copy. Complete the steps within the packet.
  4. Once DESE has your transcripts and a clear background check they will issue your certificate online. This process usually takes two weeks. Please print your certificate using the profile you created in Step 1 and bring it along with your completed Substitute Packet to Central Office.

The Lebanon School District utilizes the substitute calling system SubFinder. To access SubFinder for our district please click
here.

We also have available for your review our
Substitute Teacher Handbook. We look forward to hearing from you!
